Christmas Brisket

Cover and bake 1 1 4 to 1 1 2 hours longer or until meat and vegetables are tender.
Christmas brisket. Wash pat dry the brisket. Return the brisket to the casserole fat side up. I am not sure why the onions did not soften up the first time in my crock pot but this is a simple and spectacular meat dish making it my chritmas go to. Marinate in a saucepan over medium heat melt butter with oil.
In the morning place the brisket in the slow cooker fat side to the bottom. Dissolve bouillon in hot water. Scatter the onions and garlic over the meat and into the liquid and bring to a boil. It s not christmas without festive side dishes.
Take pan juices from the slow cooker and place in a saucepan. Sprinkle liquid smoke over the spices. Combine the ketchup paprika and garlic powder. Rub the mixture into the beef.
Serve sauce with sliced brisket. Add garlic and sauté one minute. Score the fat cap. Let stand for 10 minutes.
Then sprinke with rub till you can t see the mustard anymore. Tightly wrap the meat in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. When marinade has cooled completely place into a two gallon zip lock freezer bag and add brisket halves then seal bag and let brisket marinate for 24 hours. 1 fanestil beef brisket 9 10 lbs cut in half so both halves will fit vertically into 10 qt pressure cooker side by side 2 cups beef broth.

The christmas brisket was divine and the onions were soft and flavorful. Popped this 6 5 pound brisket flat on last night at midnight.
